Backstory: Last year we partnered with Britt Jeltemaon a tee that provided over $2,000 toward a renovation she is doing for a LGBTQ+ youth center in Florida. We also donated over 200 books to the space. Since that release, Britt sent an email to her subscribers about helping educators incorporate LGBTQ+ representation into their lessons and here is what happened:
“After that e-mail went out, I received several messages condemning the idea of including representation in the curriculum. In one of those emails, I was told, "this is far from superhero; it's more like Super Leftist Villain". If being open-minded, loving and representative of all students makes me a Super Leftist Villain, then I'm honored to take the title.”
